Family Law Cases

Overview:

Our primary goal in each family law case is to protect our client’s financial and parental rights, and obtain the best results possible for them.  At times, this requires aggressive litigation, at others, diplomatic negotiation.  We pride ourselves in being effective in both arenas.

We realize that divorce is extremely difficult on everyone involved.  Because we understand this, we strive to also provide emotional support for our clients as they go through this struggle in their lives.

We have two attorneys in our firm who handle this area of law -- Diana J. Huntsman, and Jason H. Fuller.

Additionally, we have two tax attorneys in our firm – Michael R. Lofgran and G. Andrew Page – who provide input on the tax issues which arise in family law cases.

Attorneys:

Diana J. Huntsman has handled family law matters for nearly 15 years, since 2004.  During that time, approximately 95% of her practice has been in family law.  As a result, she is knowledgeable about family law; familiar with how the Court handles issues; and experienced in handling litigation and negotiations.

Jason H. Fuller has handled family law matters since 2006, working for Utah Legal Services for a year, and for Huntsman, Lofgran & Assocs., pllc, since July of 2007.  Mr. Fuller focuses almost solely on this area of law, and is an excellent attorney.

Appellate Cases:
Most family law cases are handled in District Courts, located throughout the state of Utah.  Approximately 3% of the decisions reached by those courts are appealed to the Utah Court of Appeals, or the Utah Supreme Court.  Most family law attorneys deal with a limited number of appellate cases in their careers.  Ms. Huntsman has represented clients in the following such cases:

Cammack White v. Harbaugh, 184 P.3d 631 (UT App., 2008);

Anderton v. Anderton, 2008 UT App., 92 (Not for Official Publication);

Hatanaka v. Hatanaka, 2003 UT App., 198 (Not for Official Publication);

Wilde v. Wilde, 35 P.3d 341 (UT App., 2001); and

Kay v. Summit Systems, 924 P.2d 338 (Utah 1996).
